What a citation holds.
Four things, and all four are there so that you can check the answer without trusting it first.

| Quote | The passage the answer was read from. A picture column carries a caption instead. |
| Highlight | Where that passage sits, drawn over the page image so your eye lands on it — whenever it can be located. |
When the quote is not on the page, it says so.
A model can write a sentence that reads like a quote and is not one. So each quote is looked for on its page, and where it cannot be found the viewer drops the highlight and tells you plainly to treat the answer as unsupported and check the page yourself.
That is a citation doing its actual job. It does not prove an answer right; it says where the answer was read, so that checking it is one click rather than a search.
Confidence is a flag, not a grade.
Each answer carries the model’s own confidence in it. You will not see it as a percentage beside every cell, and it is not a measure of accuracy. What it does is order the checking.
Answers the model was unsure of are listed as Low confidence on your home page, beside the cells that failed, went stale or never ran — so the ones worth reading first are already in a list.
A correction sits on top, not instead.
Type over a cell and your value is the one the table shows, sorts on and exports. The model’s answer stays underneath with its citations, and clearing your correction brings it back without rerunning anything.
A rerun leaves hand-corrected cells alone, and editing a column’s question marks its answers stale rather than rewriting them — so nothing a person fixed is undone by the machine behind it.
One exception: a picture cannot be corrected with another picture. Typing over an image cell replaces it with text, for good.
What it will not do.
- A citation is not a proof. It shows where an answer was read. Whether the page means what the answer says is still a reader’s call.
- There is no accuracy figure. Nothing measures one, so this page does not print one.
- Confidence is not a probability. It is the model’s own estimate, used to decide what to look at first.
Citations are one part of it. Tables are where the answers land, extraction is how each one is read, and integrations are how documents arrive without anyone uploading them.
